Shadow SH SB1 Single Disc Transducer for Upright Bass Review

Shadow SH SB1 Single Disc Transducer for Upright BassMy only complaint is that the quarter inch plug is a bit challenging. At first I couldn't get my instrument cable to plug into it.After some testing and swapping I found that only two of my cables will actually click in, the others simply don't work.I assume this is an anomally with the component but it's still a pain.

The sound it pretty good when plugged into a bass amp but there tends to be a little noise when handling/touching the instrument.Backing off on the treble through the mixer eliminates that without too much fuss.

I deliberately chose the "low-end" option for amplifying my bass.I figured anything would be better than trying to use a mic on a stand and then being stuck in one place.I was right. This is much better and now I can be heard.

Realist Pickup for Acoustic CelloI play in church worship monthly, the pickup has made it so I can be heard equally with all the other instruments that are connected electronically. The sound is beautiful and it was easy to install.

Product Description:
The Realist Cello acoustic transducer was designed by Ned Steinberger in association with David Gage. A primary design goal was to create a transducer that would work equally well for pizzicato and arco through commonly used amplifiers, without requiring a pre-amp or other active, battery powered gear. A flexible element fits under the bridge foot so that it picks up sound from both the bridge and top plate. Produces a rich and powerful response that is acoustically true for both pizzicato and arco without adjusting controls. No preamp necessary. Easy installation. Just plug it in.
